Access for Everyone
The historic Boise Carnegie Public Library opened its doors in 1905 and was built with the support of the Columbian Club and a generous donation from Andrew Carnegie. The library’s purpose was to provide the community with free and equitable access to information in support of lifelong education.
A Return to the Community
In May of 2019, Ednetics founder, Shawn Swanby purchased the building, recognizing a core synergy between the building’s original purpose and Ednetics core mission. “We see this is a center of education and community and learning – which is very much how we see Ednetics today. There’s a symbolic link.”
Honoring the Legacy
This building’s history and the people who brought it to life are an important part of the renovation. The steps taken to bring the Carnegie Boise up to date are being taken with great care.
